Sealed Gas Proportional Detectors

I am looking for information concerning sealed gas proportional detectors,
specifically the size/style detectors used in APTEC personal contamination
monitors (filled with 800 Torr P-10 Gas).

Has anyone tried to estimate the "lifetime" of such detectors? That is
(assuming they are not punctured) how long will they work before they leak
down to the point of no longer counting at a high enough efficiency to be
useful?

What vendors (other than the manufacturer) offer detector repair services,
and at what price?

Concerning detector lifetimes, does anyone have any evidence to indicate that
"new" detectors last any longer than "repaired" detectors?

Thanks for any information that you can provide.
