The Safety Engineer addresses environmental safety issues primarily at the Prince William and Fairfax campuses of GMU. Assists in the management of lab safety, hazardous waste removal, radiation safety, biological safety, hazardous communication, emergency response, indoor air quality, hearing conservation, respirator and bloodborne pathogens programs. The Safety Office is directly responsible for conducting studies and preparing reports on environmental and occupational safety concerns; investigating possible safety code violations, developing and presenting training materials, maintaining records, administrating contracts and serving on various safety committees and boards.
