Oil explosion

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) -- The charred corpses of 100 villagers -- many of them
schoolchildren -- were found and many other people were believed missing
after a damaged gasoline pipeline exploded in southern Nigeria, witnesses
said Tuesday.
A reporter for Lagos' Daily Times newspaper, Sola Adebayo, said he counted
100 bodies at the scene of the blast near the villages of Adeje and
Odiri-Court in the oil-rich Niger Delta. He said many of those killed in the
Monday explosion were young children wearing school uniforms.
