The web site cited by Ms. Gbur is posted by the Scottish Committee for
Nuclear Disarmament. I do not believe that the quoted statement is even
close to a definitive rationale for the use of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima
and Nagasaki. It appears to echo a number of reasons given by various
groups for why the U. S. should not have dropped either or both bombs.
