An international research team, led by a Los Alamos National Laboratory
scientist, has identified a special ceramic material that could safely
contain radioactive wastes for thousands of years.
The discovery holds promise to revive the stagnant nuclear power
industry because it might provide a way to safely store radioactive waste
much longer than current methods.
