Re: Posting Limits: WAS Anti's, posting, and small SNM quantities

Let's keep Radsafe open and unlimited for posting. Let your fingers
do the censorship.

I am also a member on the MedPhysics Listserver. They have
implemented a 2 posting per day limit. Most of the time, that isn't a
problem. However, on a day where there might be a news article that
is directly medical physics related, I post it. Then there are 2
other questions where I can actually provide a response to the
individual, where general posting to the listserver would also be
advantageous. So, I am limited to posting one reply generally, and
the 2nd, to the individual only. After that, I usually do not go back
and post what would have been useful to the listserver since that may
limit responding to a new posting.

Limits may be fine, but with the cross-section of radiation
protection needs and capabilities on Radsafe, there are often many
threads which should elicit a response from someone. Limits will
dampen the spirit here.

As far as non-professional members, as I've already stated, I don't
believe in a "closed" membership. In those cases, as of late, where
the same drivel is being spewed, as was the case again last night, re-
defining natural versus man-made radiation .. we simply should
ignore. The insinuations by non-technical individuals on Radsafe is
no different than one of us going to a medical listserver,
predominantly made up of physicians, and then insinuating all kinds
of things regarding medical treatment, pharmaceutical prescriptions,
diagnosis, etc. We have no business interfering and questioning a
group of professionals when we have absolutely no training,
background or understanding of what they work with. To ask a good
question is perfectly fine, but to ignore the answer with fantasy,
well that's another thing.

In the case above, where all we see is drivel, conjecture and plain
nonsense, just hit the delete key and move on. I will no longer reply
or provide any feedback to many of these ridiculous posts where the
only goal is to elicit infighting amongst the Radsafers who truly
come here to learn.
