            Job Posting - Deputy Director Environmental Programs

The Texas Department of Health has posted a senior health physics
manager position at the Bureau of Radiation Control. The salary range
is from $3744 to $4318 per month (depending on qualifications), plus
excellent state benefits. You can view the job description on the TDH
web site, and also download an application form. The posting will
close on August 23, 2000.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOOKING AT THE JOB DESCRIPTION:  Log into
the web site at http://www.tdh.state.tx.us/ and select "Job
Opportunities" which is located on the lower left portion of the page.
This will take you to the "Human Resources" page where you need to
select "Jobs" and go to the "Employment Opportunities" page.  At this
location, insert "Austin" in the city insert, and select "Management"
under "Job Classification."  The job title is Manager II, and the 
posting number is 00-TDH-1251.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING THE EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION: At the
"Human Resources" page select "Application Information." This will
take you to the location where you can download the form. The
WordPerfect form is more user friendly and can be adjusted to meet the
length of your entries, whereas the Microsoft Word and PDF forms
cannot. While at this location be sure to check out "Application
Information" and "Application Tips." 

Be sure to review the job description completely. In your application
include as much information as you can on how you meet the Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities section of the job description. Also, review the
Screening and Special Instructions sections thoroughly. Please include
a copy of your current resume along with the application when you
apply. 

The completed application can be faxed or mailed to TDH. It must be
received in the Bureau of Human Resources at TDH by 5:00 pm on August
23, 2000. Both the address and fax number are on the top of the
on-line job description.
