Re[2]: Tooth Fairy

     Norm,

One very major correction with what you and the TFP keep claiming. The
amount of Sr90 in teeth will NOT give an indication about emissions.
What it does give is an indication of the person's intake of Sr90. As
others on the list have pointed out previously, there are many
potential sources of Sr90 intake, and breathing it is NOT a
significant one. Food, milk, water, etc... are the real sources, and
simply assuming that any Sr90 in the teeth was emitted from a nuclear
power plant, or any other source, in the area where the child is from
     is simply wrong!

You would have to know where the child's milk, food, water, etc. came
from and then follow those pathways to really find out where the Sr90
in the teeth came from. The TFP's assumption that any Sr90 in teeth
must have come from a local source is, at best, very bad science, and
     at worst, a bald-faced lie.

Competent Health Physicists understand the fundamental difference
here, but apparently you, the TFP, certain movie stars and others
either don't understand it or choose to ignore it since it doesn't fit
the predetermined outcome that you're trying to 'prove.' Which is it?

Hi Terry

I believe I posted this back in "round one", but you've got it basically
correct. The idea is that most of the sr-90
would be absorbed by the fetus while the baby teeth are forming. This would
hopefully give the TFP a 'snapshot'
of Sr-90 emissions in a limited time period.

I understand the criticisms of food intake, fallout patterns, and how exactly
the sr-90 gets into the food and thus into the teeth. That's why I have said,
lets wait until there are teeth collected and analyzed from nuke plants (and
non-nuke areas) from all over the country.
