Yes, and as a result (of absorbing UV from the sun) the presence of ozone allows
solar radiation to heat the stratosphere. Without ozone it will heat the lower
troposphere instead, hence, indirectly its destruction is involved in the
warming of the low atmosphere (what is commonly called global warming).
Granted this is probably a 2nd or higher-order effect, it is still contributes
to global warming and the remark is technically correct.
