I think U.S. Citizens are about to be treated to a painful dose of the
reality that is associated with the Law of Unintended Consequences. A lot
of well-intentioned, but misguided activists have successfully blocked
construction of adequate generating capacity (of ANY kind, nuclear or
otherwise). The U.S. has, until rectently, had sufficient excess to
accomodate these short-sighted luxuries. We are just now coming
face-to-face with the consequences. It'll get much worse before it gets
better. Hang on for the coming roller-coaster ride.
I commend the following eye-opening books to interested readers: "The Logic
of Failure", by Deitrich Dorner and "Undue Influence" by Ron Arnold.
