RE: NIST Traceable Am-241 Alpha Particle Calibration Standards



I recently got a quote from IPL and I believe they make a NIST certified
47mm electroplated Am-241 disk in the 700-900 dollar range.  I'm not sure
you'll do too much better than that.  I believe you can get it plated on
either a stainless steel or nickel disk.  I'm hoping these sources will be
more durable than some of the "foil" sources I've seen.  The 47 mm disk is
nice because the source will fit in standard cal and portable source check
jigs typically made for the 47mm beta sources. 

Try AEA Technologies 781-359-9159, I've recently gotten some quotes for some
specialized sources I plan to order from them.
