Reed College, TRIGA

Reed College is probably one of the smallest organizations to own and
operate a TRIGA research reactor. And that is saying a lot in the face of
the many larger organizations with graduate programs that are closing their
research reactor facilities. Basically it is operated and maintained by
students, all of which are of course licensed by NRC. And from a talk I
heard recently, a large fraction of the student body ends up with some
familiarity with the facility.
While this does not say anything about a particular graduate as a group I
would expect Reed graduates to be a notch above most universities in terms
of the interests of the RADSAFE community.
And I think Ruth statement that their reputation is 'solid' is an
understatement (from second hand info I have seen).
