food irradiation papers

I just stumbled across a journal issue with many papers on food irradiation,
the March 2000 issue of Radiation Physics and Chemistry. The web address
for this journal's page is:

http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/radphyschem

This issues appears to be proceedings from a conference on the issue and
papers include the effects on food safety, vitamin content, and more. There
are also a number of papers in this issue about radiation effects on other
substances, including polymers and several chemicals. The papers all appear
to be download-able in PDF format.

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one
begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.
