New Neutron-Shielding Code
Hello fellow Radsafers,
I received some information today, from a shielding window mfg., about a newly
developed neutron-shielding code. The code, to his knowledge, is titled
MERCUR, and can run a multi-slab calculation in seconds, instead of many-many
hours using a Monte Carlo code (e.g., MCNP). He says the code has been
developed in France, by the CEA, and may be available soon.
Does any one have any more specific information on this new code?
Thanks in advance, John P. Hageman, CHP, Radiation Safety Officer
