I was cleaning up old emails - missed the one below (here only keeping the
first few paragraphs). To give a brief response:
No - I never smoked. I am against smoking and tobacco companies but not
smokers. Have worked on radiation sensitivity and DSB repair of carcinoma
cells (lung and squamous from oral cavity) from smokers.
"Smoking is legal."
I can only agree.
For anyone who reads Swedish you can see a letter I wrote to the political
parties nine years ago. Essentially it summarizes the health effects and
emphasizes the need for clear information to the younger generation. The
last sentence reads something like "No other harmful factor is as wellknown
(regarding the cause-effect relationship) and can compete with smoking as
the cause of a large public health problem.":

I am not sure you have previousely mentioned your
personal experience with smoking or not.
I assume you never "really" smoked.
I have been smoking for over 50% of my life-time.
It is IMPOSSIBLE for a person WHO did not REALLY smoke
to understand a smoker(Period)
So I will not even try to explain the nature of the
addiction to you.
I will just give some feed back from the OTHER side.
So NON smokers could related in some or other way and
