RE: Has anyone replaced BWR condenser tubes?

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station replaced their admiralty brass condenser

tubes with modules of titanium tubes in the early 1990s.

Dresden Station is currently planning a power uprate project, which

will

include modifications to our condensers. The current plan is to

place

stakes in between the condenser tubes to provide additional bracing.

As an alternative, an engineer at the station is looking at the

possibility

of a full-scale replacement of the condenser tubes (that's 60,000

tubes per

condenser). He has asked that I pose a question to the listserve in

the

hopes that someone out there may have experience with a similar

evolution

        with a BWR.
