Future of nuclear power in US?

Dear Radsafe Professionals:

A point of interest in terms of energy. This week

earnings will be reported for AESI, manufacturer of

photovoltaics and wind technology. They are expected

to be -$0.12 per share. In addition, earnings for El

Paso Energy and XTO, two large suppliers of natural

gas are expected to be +$0.76 and +$0.64 per share

respectively. Futures for NG are going up again but

are not yet at the peak of last winter. This gives a

tiny snapshot view of what is going on in terms of

electrical production in the US.

(Futures for crude oil look good at ~$29-30 per barrel

since production is not likely to increase.)

Does anyone have any information regarding General

Atomics Inc and their expected earnings?

In addition, about two years ago two or three US

entrepeneurs were in Russia discussing increased

mining of Th and conversion of Th-232 to U-233 in

Russia. Does anyone have any additional information

on this? They were talking about over one hundred

million dollars to be spent in this effort near term.

A bientot,

Paul Shafer
