Scientists succeed in more efficient laser fusion

<SNIP>

The ITER is designed to harness energy released from atoms when their nuclei

combine through the heating of hydrogen to several hundred million degrees C

to trigger a reaction, in the same way as the Sun produces energy.

..............right -- I just wish we could see how the Sun would "release

energy" if it were fuelled by D-T, like ITER & other earth-bound fusion

research reactors, instead of the p-p reaction chain which the Sun actually

runs on ( or better NOT, on second thought -- if we don't wish to blow away

this part of the Milky Way Galaxy !!! ).

Not quite the "same way," is it ?
