New Peter Parsons paper

Friends,

FYI. Please tell your colleagues and others of the following excellent

brief paper by Dr. Peter Parsons! (Why does it take 50 weeks from accept

to ELECT pub!? :-) See .pdf ref below.

Radiation hormesis: an ecological and energetic perspective

Medical Hypotheses, 2001 Sep;57(3):pp. 277-279

Abstract

Organisms in natural habitats are exposed to an array of environmental

stresses, which all have energetic costs. Under this ecological

scenario, hormesis for ionizing radiation becomes an evolutionary

expectation at exposures substantially exceeding background. This

conclusion implies that some relaxation of radiation protection criteria

is worthy of serious consideration. Copyright 2001 Harcourt Publishers
