RE: Terrorist attacks on nuclear facilities

Hi,

If you have been reading the news, it was not the impact of the jet liners

that brought down the World Trade Towers, but the fire from the fuel

weakening the supporting steel superstructure. Does anyone know if the

safety analysis considered intense heat as well as the impact on the

containment building?

As I recall, since TMI is near the Harrisburg International Airport, its

containment was designed to withstand the impact of a 737 at 600 mph. I

suppose any future plants should now take that design feature into account.
