Re: query

El Al makes the cockpite impervious.

There was an interview with a pilot yesterday morning on NPR and I found his comment on this very interesting.  He said that when the crew hears commotion of a suspicious nature in the cabin (like sounds of an attack on the attendants) the captain puts the plane on autopilot and one or more of the crew go into the cabin to check out the disturbance.  He said that the new orders are not to leave the cockpit for any reason at all, but he also said he's not sure he could do that if he thought someone were being harmed in the cabin.

I think in addition to this safeguard, we need air marshals in the cabin.  Again, El Al has them.
