RE: Franz - RE: X-ray of packages and containers
>From the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors statement that was
referenced by John Jacobus:
"WHEREAS: This results in unnecessary radiation exposure with little or no benefit
(medical or otherwise) to those individuals."
Question: What about the benefit to society as a whole?
Minimal radiation exposures in searches of vehicles, suspected smugglers,
prison visitors, etc. is, in my opinion, beneficial to society and of no
measurable effect to the "exposed" individual. In regard to the use of
x-ray technology to check for smuggling of humans in the back of a truck,
those people could limit their exposure by not stowing away in the first
place.
