RE: Breast Cancer Therapy Doses
Linda,
Go to the Health Physics Society's Ask the Expert web site,
http://www.hps.org/publicinformation/ate/. They may have the answer, or you
could submit the question for an answer.

Subject: Breast Cancer Therapy Doses
Sensitivity: Private
Hi All,
A friend of mine asked a question regarding the radiation exposure
associated with breast cancer therapies. She had 30 days of treatment with
a beam irradiator. The folks doing the irradiations said the cumulative
dose to the target tissue was approximately 5000 - 6000 Rad. What is the
approximate "whole body" dose from this type of treatment? I wanted to try
and put this in a more familiar context for her.
Thanks,
Linda
