Of note here is that it takes about a mega-rad of gamma radiation to make
glass a nice dark brown or purple color...clear plastics will probably
darken as well. Of course film wouldn't just be damaged at these levels.
Would sure bring back the Dosimetry reader market, unless you had special
couriers to ferry dosimetry from clients to providers. Could be interesting
to see the looks on folks faces when they see that Newtons Apple that
Grandma Em sent them...
If this were to be done, is there a cost estimate on the equipment and a
time projection at how long it would take to get all of this in place? It
seems so impractical to implement such a system nationwide.

I got this from a "dangerous goods colleague" - and I do not know if this
has already been published on Radsafe. Perhaps this was the article that
triggered the whole discussion on this subject, but as I like you to see
this, I accept the risk it that you see this twice.
