Description of Work:
Conduct comprehensive inspections for x-ray facilities, including
private practices,
hospitals, prisons, educational and research institutions, to ascertain
that all users of
x-ray producing equipment are in compliance with the NC regulations for
protection
against radiation. Provide expert consultation to users of radiation
producing
equipment and evaluate radiation facilities, including performing
radiation measurements, review of exposure records, and assessment of
radiation protection
practices. Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Team player with strong work ethic. Good oral and written communication
skills.
Computer experience.
Training and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in one of
the physical
sciences and on year of experience in radiological health; or graduation
from a two-year course in radiological, environmental, electrical, or
nuclear engineering technology and three years of experience as
described above; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
