LONDON - Britain's Ministry of Defence wants to stop four offshore wind projects because of fears their whirring turbine blades could interfere with air defence radar systems, said a ministry official yesterday.

Comment: The issue of large windmills interfering with military radar is disputed, as are a number of other potential windmill environmental impacts. However, these potential impacts will be getting more detailed analysis as large wind farm projects move forward from concept to detailed engineering to implementation.
