1. Chernobyl was a dry design which did help at al lto

prevent the release of I-131.



2. US plants are a wet design which mitigates very

well the accidental release of I-131.



3. People living around Chernobyl suffered from a diet

low in iodine and thus their thyroids soaked up every

trace of iodine imaginable.



4. People living in the USA have diets much richer in

iodine and thus are not as susceptible to the same

consequnces.



5. The systematic dispersal of KI will create much

unnecessary panic and public fear.  Of course, nuclear

critics want people to fear nuclear power and this is

just one way that they can help accomplish that goal.
