Legionnaire's Disease- The Facts

The disease is named after the fact that its first known outbreak was at the

American Legion's Pennsylvania convention on July 21-24, 1976.  The

convention was held at the Bellvue-Stratford hotel in Philadelphia.  The

legionella bacteria were found in the hotel's HVAC ductwork.
