RE: "Dangerous" nuclear plants

I believe your comments are inappropriate. I believe quotes from the Bin

Laden tapes are copyrighted material. We all understand that whenever you

become so fervent about an issue, you lose your ability to be objective.

Nobody in nuclear power has a problem with risk-based inspections and action

levels associated with measured levels of degradation. I think everyone

should just concentrate on the critical variables are action levels and let

the data tell the tale.

Many who work at the plants also live near the plants. There is some level

of risk associated with living near any industrial facility. I think there

would be more actual health ailments living downwind from 2400 MWe of coal

plants, than our two 1200 MWe reactors at our site. Have you ever really

experienced upper respiratory irritation from airborne pollutants, fallout

damaging the paint on your car? You can experience this today at more than

one metropolitan area.

I think we should stick with risk-based assessments of facilties and really

doubt that wind power could meet the real needs of today. I find it

difficult to believe that low density power sources are really viable.
