Bill, good points all.



I would maintain, however, that the "public" has had very little input into radiation protection "public" policy (ironic tho' it may be).  If, indeed, the public was informed in understandable terms what exactly it is we know with any certainty at the levels that current regulations address ... and how much we're spending to "protect" individuals from that which we cannot demonstrate "harm".... we might just have a revolt on our hands.



Regarding "defensible", I was mainly referring to a RadCon occupation (at NPP's) where many of the measures taken actually DO protect individuals from identifiable and quantifiable harm.  Regrets that my first message did not communicate my thoughts very well.
