ignorant press by environmental group

I did not know that the US was not an industrial nation!  Norm :)(no offense intended at all)please take note how some environmentalist have zero idea of the real world and how the press just wants to make news without researching it. Below is a recent example - the US has four facilities using this procedure. 



Australian Conservation Foundation spokesman Dave Sweeney said the 

technique used at the mine, known as in situ leach or ISL and involving 

pumping acid underground, was not approved in any other of the major 

industrialized nations and had in the past caused serious pollution in eastern Europe.
