RE: Experience in using the IAEA BSS Exemptions table in regulato ry regime

Title: RE: Experience in using the IAEA BSS Exemptions table in regulato ry regime

Has anybody on this list been in the position of actually using (as a
regulator) the IAEA Basic Safety Standards Safety Series 115 Exemption
Levels for activity and for activity concentration, for making
determinations of whether items or bulk loads are, or are not, to be
regulated?

I would appreciate comments particularly on whether there appear to be any
grossly high or low levels for individual radionuclides, on whether there
appears to be scope for simplification, and on whether the replacement of
the old 74 Bq/g (2 microcurie/kg) cutoff is considered to be (or not to be)
a "good thing".
