RE: Indian Scientists Use Radiation to Cure Flatulence
My understanding is that much of the hospital food is also irradiated since
many patients can't handle the bacteria normally present in our consumption.
And apparently in Chicago, where irradiated produce (strawberries) is put
next to unirradiated produce, and labeled accordingly, the irradiated food
goes first--consumers know it will stay fresh longer.

Is it not the case that the astronauts have been eating artificially
irradiated foods throughout the existence of the US space program?
Similarly, my understanding is that a wide variety of spices and seasonings
are irradiated to kills insects and otherwise ensure the sterility of these
foodstuffs which are commonly used in the US. I'm anxious to see the
appearance of irradiated meats and other foods in the
Dallas-Ft. Worth area. All flatulence aside ....

that's different, because that's at low doses and low dose-rates, and can't
be compared to the high doses and high dose-rates in food irradiation," I
