STAR is an anti-nuke bunch -- Otto Raabe might have more information on them.

I actually worked with Gordon Thompson briefly when we were both consultants to the State of Washington when Hanford was still a proposed HLW repository site. This was in 1986, so it's been a while. at the time I knew Gordon, the Institute essentially operated out of his house. I don't really know what credentials he has, but he did not impress me as being very knowledgeable, and I find it hard to believe he would be objective.. He thought a great deal of Chip Perrow's book "Normal Accidents" which I think isn't very good. I'll look though my files to see if I have anything on Gordon and let you know. Anything I have would be hard copy, so send me your address and I'll mail it.
