It is not a big secret... minimize corrosion by maintaining a non-corrosive

environment, monitor the chemistry of the steam plant and remove

contaminants. A good program for any power plant, nuclear or non-nuclear.

Additionally a good Foreign Material Exclusion program can go a long way!

When I entered the civilian nuke power plant world, chemistry control of

the secondary systems (PWR) was a "new" idea. It amazed me that ex-Navy

Nukes had forgotten the methods we used in the Navy to keep steam generator

defects to zero.
