NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2002-06

The NRC is now allowing the use of dose weighting for those

individuals who are exposed to NRC-licensed material, and, who are

also exposed to medical x-ray (which is not under the jurisdiction).

The key element is that the medical x-ray must come under a state

authority where dose weighting is permitted. There are references to

CRCPD, NCRP and ANSI for specific methodologies approved:

The document is titled: NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2002-06,

Evaluating Occupational Dose for Individuals Exposed to NRC-Licensed

Material and Medical X-Rays.
