Off-topic, but I just had to interject some "facts"

about PETA that are quite interesting.  They say all

their tactics are legal and squeeky clean, I say bull.



PETA reminds me of those companies that make people

pay to sell their product to you.  If the rep says

something to you that is false, the company wipes

their hands of it and says that they cannot control

what their reps say and they certainly aren't liable

for them since their reps are "independant

contractors."



I used to live in Va Beach and I lived there when PETA

moved it's headquarters to Norfolk.  I remember going

fishing one day with my friends when a bunch of PETA

people came by, stood on the shore, and held up signs,

calling us "murderers" and throwing rocks and such in

the waters to scare the fish away from our

lines....and to annoy us.



We simply went to a part of the water where they could

not gain access.  We ignored them.  Some boaters did

not and yelled remarks back to them.



When PETA figured out that they couldn't get to the

part of the inlet where we were at, they got a boat

and came out after us.  They didn't hit our boat, but

they "bumped" several boats near ours.



One of the boats that they "bumped" (as they called

it) had a very irate person in it who looked like they

were about to go ballistic on them.  Then the cops

came.  I'm not sure if the owner of the boat filed a

complaint with the PETA people that bumped him or not

since we left and went somewhere else.



The point of this was that PETA came to the shore just

looking for trouble.  People go out fishing to have a

good time with friends, not to be hounded, jeered,

insulted, and assaulted (yes, ramming someone's boat

is a form of assault) by a bunch of ultra-liberal

fanatics with a cause.



If PETA has a problem with fishing, then they need to

petition the government to ban fishing.  They should

not go about it the way they did - by ramming people's

boats and almost causing a fight.



This is just one instance.  As far as their assistance

with ALF/ELF, ANYONE who assists in ANY way with a

person whose sole goal in life is to spike trees (to

kill or injure a logger), burn down a house (because

the house affects the environment), or vandalize an

SUV (because they don't agree with the mpg the vehicle

gets regardless of how many miles the person actually

drives the vehicle) is condoning terrorist activities.



Most rational people consider ALF & ELF as terrorist

groups.  I would think that groups that consider

themselves honorable & respectable to run as fast as

they can from groups like ALF & ELF.
