Position opening in Radiation Safety at West VirginiaUniversity



Health and Safety Specialist/Radiation Safety Specialist



The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University,

Morgantown, WV, has an opening for a Health & Safety

Specialist/Radiation Safety Specialist in the Department of Radiation

Safety.  The incumbent will perform technical and administrative duties

involving radioactive materials and radiation producing devices located

at West Virginia University and West Virginia University Hospital, Inc. 

This includes inspections, surveys and routine monitoring of radioactive

facilities for adherence to University, Hospital, local, state, and

federal radiation safety procedures, policies and government

regulations.  Requirements include a BS degree in Health Physics,

Radiological Sciences or Safety and two years of experience in radiation

safety practices in an industrial or medical field.  Also requires

previous experience in the development and presentation of educational

training programs. Also, must have the ability to use a personal

computer and computer-based software.  Must possess a valid drivers

license to travel to different site locations for inspections and

respond to pages when on-call each month.  Some experience with hospital

radiation safety practices preferred.  This position is benefits
