Radiation Control Inspector

                              State of Kansas



The  Dept.  of Health and Environment is seeking qualified candidates for a

Radiation  Control Inspector position (Req# 37229) in the Bureau of Air and

Radiation  in  Topeka.   This  position will perform on-site inspections of

large,  complex  radioactive  material  licensees  and x-ray registrants to

determine   if   the   use,  possession,  transfer,  disposal,  storage  of

radioactive  material  and x-ray producing equipment are in accordance with

regulations.  Requires:  Job  knowledge  at  an entry level in radiological

health/health  physics.  Prefer:  Experience  in the performance of on-site

inspections  of  large,  complex  radioactive materials licensees and x-ray

registrants  to  determine  if  the  use,  possession,  transfer, disposal,

storage  of  x-ray  producing equipment are in accordance with regulations.

Starting  salary  $38,626  annually,  plus  excellent  benefits.  Submit  a

Radiation Protection Specialist

                              State of Kansas



The  Dept.  of Health and Environment is seeking qualified candidates for a

Radiation  Protection Specialist position (Req# 37231) in the Bureau of Air

and   Radiation   in  Topeka.   This  position  will  conduct  inspections,

investigations,  registration  and  control  of  X-ray equipment, including

mammography,  diagnostic,  therapeutic  and industrial uses.  Requires: Job

knowledge  at an entry level in radiological health/health physics. Prefer:

Knowledge  of the principles and practices of the use of ionizing radiation

in   mammography,  diagnostic  and  therapeutic  medicine,  dentistry,  and

veterinary  medicine  and  industrial  radiography.  Knowledge of the laws,

standards,   and  procedures  governing  the  use  of  x-ray  machines  and

accelerators.  Starting  salary  $31,803 annually, plus excellent benefits.
