Research position
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is seeking
a Research Health Physicist for the Health-Related Energy Research Branch to
conduct exposure assessment research for epidemiologic studies of workers in
the nuclear and related industries. Exposures to multiple internal and
external forms of ionizing radiation are important factors in most of these
studies. Retrospective assessment of potential exposures to chemicals and
other workplace factors is also conducted. These studies offer unique
opportunities to develop novel exposure assessment methods using large
exposure data sets.
This research fellowship position requires that the selected candidate
initiate, design, conduct and direct exposure assessment research.
Publication of results in peer-reviewed scientific journals is expected.
Familiarity with common external and internal dosimetry methods is required
and some experience with statistical analysis of large data sets is a plus.
Appointment to the fellowship is for a maximum of five years and may be
renewed. Masters degree or higher is required and salary will be
commensurate with experience and education. Full benefits, including
insurance and retirement, are provided. The position is located in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Search will remain open until the position is filled.
Applicants are not required to be U.S. citizens. NIOSH is an equal
opportunity employer and its facilities are designated as smoke-free.
