The
US Pharmacopoeia lists the impurities maximum amount of impurities allowed
for Thallium-201 to be no greater than 5%. If the injection is 2-4
millicuries, then the impurities could be up to 0.2 millicuries.
Some of the impurities could 'stay around' for over 30 days. It depends
upon the sensitivity of the portal monitor whether they will pass or not.
Allowance should be made for this.

Tl-201
Does
anybody have info on the biological half-live of Tl-201 used in stress
tests. Does the inability to pass a portal monitor for 30 days seem
excessive?
