website for japanese a-bomb survivors
Hi all,
I've read some of the discussion about Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the
list. For the last 6 years, the Coalition for Peace and Justice (the
other 'hat' I wear) has sponsored visits from Hibakusha to our area in
early August. Below is the website for the Hibakusha. You may find it
interesting:

The Coalition does not take a position on whether Truman's decision to
a-bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki was "correct" or not. My dad fought in
WWII in many areas including China, and so I know he is personally glad
that the bomb was dropped.
One can "Monday morning quarterback" the decision and come up with
reasons why dropping the bomb was the right thing to do or not. We
prefer to focus on the devastating effects of what were small a-bombs,
in the hope that a nuclear weapon would never be used again by any
country.
Peace
