Betreff: Th-232 in scrap material

Dear Sir,

I would like to have information about the recycling limit of the Th-232

added aircraft alloys.

These aircraft debris is waiting in one of the official junkyard for

selling.

If they sell, it is not possible to know the end users of final

products. The products may be in use by public.

If you send to me any information about the activity limits for recycle and

reuse of Th-232 added alloys It would be very appreciated.

Dear collegue,

Thorium is used as a constituent of alloys with magnesium for the

manufacture of aeroplane engines. This combines extraordinary strength and

hardness with the light-weight of magnesium.

I would recommend that you contact the competent Turkish authority. I am

absolutely sure, that Turkey has legislation, which deals with radioactive

waste and that you as a Turkish company or person have to follow the Turkish

legislation!!! It might be interesting, what the legislation might be in

other countries, but this simply is not applicable in your country! I really

would warn you to ignore your countries legislation! Neither US legislation

nor (non existing) European Union legislation is applicable.

Best regards,

Franz
