The most pathetic thing in this is that pro-nuclear is not anti-environment, but you have to put the myths and legends behind you, and do a little homework in the physical sciences to recognize that.
Sorry, I know that was yet another elitist statement, but for cryin' out loud, if I had a brain tumor, I wouldn't take a neighborhood vote to decide on my treatment options, I'd go to a doctor. Yet, here's what our illustrious Senator Barbara Boxer had to say on the effects of the Santa Susanna Field Lab in Simi Valley: "You don't need a degree to see that people are getting sick near the site." Oh, really Barbara? Maybe you need to let our epidemiologists know that, because if you're right, the country's wasting an awful lot of money on them, and it'd be a heck of a lot cheaper for us if you'd just point out where there's a problem and then get the rest of the country to pay us to take care of it through federal funding. Why bother with facts and studies and surveys - they're so expensive!
