RE: nuke guards undertrained; overworked
If they're union, they can't be "forced" to work overtime anyway.

Subject: RE: nuke guards undertrained; overworked
Every time I hear one of these 'startling' revelations about lax security,
nuclear plant vulnerability, etc., I pretty sure of one thing: they are
written and distributed by someone who has never actually been to a nuclear
facility and has no idea what they are talking about.
For a reality check:
-Security forces mostly work overtime because they WANT to work overtime.
They get paid more. Find one guard who feels 'forced' to work overtime, and
I'll show you a dozen who will volunteer for it.
-Security forces will ALWAYS say they could use more, rather than less,
firepower. Do you really think there is a security force anywhere that
says, "Gee, we have too many guns and stuff around here. We should get rid
of some of this and get some nice throw pillows instead"?
-Real-life experience doesn't validate the incessantly repeated mantra that
nuclear plants are at the "top of the list" for vulnerability, or that the
security forces are inadequate or ineffective.
Just another non-story from the anti's...we'll hear another one tomorrow.
Black is white; up is down.
