RE: Kr85 Source Question
Actually the source itself made by 3M is listed at the following location
http://www.hsrd.ornl.gov/nrc/sources/pdf/04600914.pdf . Unfortunately, the
fill pressure used is not identified. You might be able to get that
information from 3M Health Physics Services if they have access to the
archived files...

GO TO THE SEALED SOURCE REGISTRY; located at
http://www.hsrd.ornl.gov/nrc/sources/index.cfm
Your source is listed at;

I've said this before on RADSAFE. Every HP should save this page in

RadSafers,
One of our waste generations has a Kr85 source that was removed from some
instrumentation for disposal in the radioactive wastestream.
The source chamber has the following data stenciled on the side...
Kr-85
5 millicuries
S/N 1015
Model # 3M-3B4G
Company: Environmental Research Corporation, 3760 N. Dunlap, St. Paul,
Minn. 55112
Question: Could someone provide information relative to the internal
pressure of the Kr85 gas contained in this source and any associated
reference document?
Thank you in advance for your reply,
Greg Larson
