Radiation Control Inspector

                              State of Kansas



The Dept. of Health and Environment is seeking qualified candidates for a

Radiation Control Inspector position (Req# 38443) in the Bureau of Air and

Radiation in Topeka.  This position will be responsible for implementation

of the environmental monitoring program. Collect or assist in collection of

environmental samples for monitoring program as needed.

Requires: Bachelor's degree and job knowledge at an entry level in

radiological health/health physics.  Prefer: Health Physics and

Radiological Health Measurements and  Environmental Monitoring/Sampling

Experience; Knowledge of Statistical and Mathematical Models as Applied to

Analysis and Interpretation of Environmental Data;  Radioactive Materials

Handling Experience  and  Technical Writing Experience.  Starting salary

$18.57 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Submit a completed Employment

We anticipate posting another Radiation Control Inspector position for

emergency planning October 2. This position involves specialized work

including the development of radiological emergency procedures, the

training of emergency responders, and response to actual incidents and

emergencies in the state.

Requires: Bachelor's degree and job knowledge at an entry level in

radiological health/health physics.  Prefer Health Physics, Radiological

Health Measurement,  Emergency Preparedness, Training/Public Speaking and

Technical Writing Experience.
