JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A disgruntled employee entered a state office Thursday, shot

two co-workers and then fatally shot himself, authorities said.

The shooting occurred before 9 a.m. in the office of radiological services, a division

of the state Department of Health in downtown Jacksonville, said Duval County Health

 Director Dr. Jeff Goldhagan.

The gunman died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police

Sgt. Dennis McGuire said. His name was not immediately available. Sheriff Nathan Glover

described the man as a disgruntled employee.

The two male victims were taken to Shands Jacksonville hospital with life-threatening

injuries, McGuire said. Their names were not immediately released. They were both shot

 with a handgun.

One victim was in critical condition and undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds to his

chest and arm, McGuire said. The other was listed in serious condition with gunshot

wounds to the chest and buttocks, he said.

McGuire said the exact sequence of the shooting was not immediately known. He said the

 Riverside Building was evacuated.

A police SWAT team had been dispatched near the scene of the shooting in an unrelated

matter and rushed to the scene, McGuire said.

"Everybody was there almost instantly," McGuire said. "Unfortunately the damage was

 already done."

Dr. John Agwunobi, secretary of the Department of Health, was en route to the hospital

to console family members. Goldhagan said about 15 health department employees who

worked in the building were sent home early.

Brooks Haas, who has owned the building for 30 years, said the building is not staffed

by security guards but has security cameras.

 "It's a shock. It's a terrible thing," Haas said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A state Health Department employee opened fire with a pistol

I have just become aware that 3 state radiation health workers were shot

today in their office in the Florida Jacksonville Office. One of the

victims was the shooter and he has passed away. The other two individuals

are in the hospital in critical and serious condition. Since the only info

I can get right now is from the internet I am reluctant to put names on

here but if you look at Google and other sources they are mentioning names.

I would just ask that everyone keep the survivors in their prayers.
