can''t be of much help to Wes without more info as to the source activity and Shepherd model numbers. Keep in mind, that using some of the speciallized containers als requires that the user be registered as a user and meet all the requirements of Part 71.

All of the suggestions that have been made are helpful but if a person doesn't fully understand all the regs for transporting this type of source, they can be in for a big fine.

JL Shepherd has built a reputation and good business building irradiators and the transport containers to move them. He's not inexpensive but he certainly has the capability to get the device moved. If someone ships in violation of the regulations, his fee may not look so bad when it comes time to pay a fine.
