Re: "Limit to Survival - Effect of Radiation

Franz and all,

I apologize for the confusion from the siimile, but not for the point:that

radiation, like iodine, fluoride and other preventive medicine, seems to be very

beneficial in small dose and to withhold it is harmful. I have great respect

for controlling radiation dosage, since I took thousands of chest, extremity and

abdominal x-rays in a room I personally designed for ALARA 42 years ago.

I am familiar enough with isotopes to have observed them in imaging, treatment

and some other applications here at Berkeley and Livermore. I wish I knew a

great deal more about the effects of radon and its daughters, since this and

gamma emitters like uranium ore or CO 60 (in mattress steel?) may be used more

for public health - survival topic- in the near future. I hope this will be by

individual choice and that most citizens will understand more than Franz thought

I did (like attributing radioactivity to iodized salt).
